It’s worth listening to children and the amazing hearts they have.
In listening to one recently, I was taken aback with the level of concern they expressed for those in Third World countries. Recognising their own materially privileged circumstances, they had a heart to help those who were not even able to access bare minimal resources like clean water. If that child could have reached out to clean the water and make it available to those suffering, she would have done so there and then. Her concern was not about money and she didn’t bother about red tape and things of that nature. She was just concerned about practically alleviating the suffering of others.
Such an approach reminded me of the compassion extended to us spiritually impoverished. Compassion that necessarily covered the whole person within and without. Seeing that compassion in the child reminded me that those who acknowledge how they are loved much will love much.
For that I am grateful
