Thank God for … Sound

The senses are a wonder.

All of them are worth appreciating especially in how they connect with our minds to shape and define our world.

Being able to hear is a sense I am keen to celebrate. The worlds that open up at the soundscapes that my ears have been blessed by over the years has been astonishing. It’s still something that informs my way of knowing the world significantly.

The oral tradition is one I imagine that shaped the hearts and minds of generations. Accompanied by the incidental music of nature stories are enriched and truths are further embedded. In as sophisticated as we have become with technology, it is not replacing anything, neither can it.

To hear that familiar call that invites me to love, warmth, growth, challenge, joy and peace – such a sound blessing.

For that I am grateful.

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
