He looks at his hands as they glow. The moment has been held off for long enough, he knows he cannot hold it back any further. Alone in the room that took care of him for so long, he has mixed emotions.
Switching the levers to set sail to elsewhere, he knows the time has come and he simply says, more to himself, “I don’t want to go.”
With that, though, it was time to go and everything changed.
Much later he would reflect that times change and he does with it. We are all different people all throughout our lives, but it’s important to remember all the people we used to be, even as we move on from there. Move on into the new.
