Some things are meant to be.
Lovely cliché. It fits nothing better than marriage. It still makes me sad hearing of and witnessing the end of marriages. Two people, two different lifestyles, two cultures, two worlds merging as one.
Today my wife and I celebrate 12 years of marriage. I took it for granted because the marriage of my parents really was rock solid. It just seemed to be the norm looking at my Mum and Dad, that it would work out.
It didn’t take too long in my own marriage to realise that the survival and thriving nature of one takes much, especially the grace of God. I have been forgiven of much. My wife has dealt with much. It has not been anything like a bed of roses. It is not a bed of roses as I type.
What it is, though, is the most beautiful expression of God’s love, I have ever experienced. My admiration for Authrine has never been greater. My appreciation for her commitment to growth has never been deeper. My applause for her devotion to her family has never been louder.
Overall the love we share has never been stronger – and we know the best is yet to come. As long as our focus remains on God who sustained the marriage of my parents for almost 40 years, then we can live through to enjoy and thrive as a married couple until He takes us home.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
