Son of God. Son of Man.
Prince of Peace. Suffering Servant.
It’s something that keeps on bugging me about the example I’m supposed to follow. Truly knowing Jesus and following in His Way is something that is both glorious and humbling. It is supposed to capture the reality of being seated with Him in heavenly places and called to submit ourselves one to another.
It’s about identifying myself as part of divine lineage and expressing that in pursuing greatness by being the least. It’s not as complicated as I want to make it out to be. It’s seeing the example of what God created Man to be in His own Son and then doing that. As any son truly wants to please His Dad, so there’s the element of knowing it will be being pleasing to the Father to be like Him in serving and giving and being generous in character.
There’s no need to flaunt the family status I have – it should be evident in the family character lived out in serving the needs of people around me as instructed by the Father. Being a part of the family is exemplified in people giving Father the glory because they see Him in us.
It’s a compelling and challenging reality – His sons are servants. What makes them outstanding servants is exactly because they are His sons.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
