Maybe It’s Not The Right Vehicle

We can get hung up on the wrong things, get distracted and completely miss the point.

Maybe the way we converse is not always respectful. Some of the things that are said are done with an aggressive and pained spirit that often seeks to be vindicated more than it seeks solutions. Some of the things we hold dear, maybe are not worth clinging onto at the cost of the outcome.

With all that being the case, there still remains some real issues to address. They can be summed up in questions such as: Where are we going? How are we getting there? Is this the best way to make progress?

If we really are seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness that should propel us with that vision in mind. As with any journey it also means we have to be aware that not every stage of the journey can be negotiated in the same vehicle. Sometimes we can get so hung up with the vehicle, that we don’t appreciate it is not fit for function at this stage of the journey.

When we appreciate that it’s more important for us to make it in the journey than to make a big deal of the vehicle, then we can actually be adaptable to what is the right one to use at any given stage. That takes the courage to change. It takes the bravery to discuss, disagree and resolve matters to go forward together. That takes boldness to make challenging decisions for the right reasons with the right desire in mind.

All of that to say, just because it’s the way we have done it before, doesn’t mean it’s the way it should always be done. Maybe it just not the right vehicle to use for now.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
