Genesis: 10 – Making A Name For Yourself

Cush was the father[c] of Nimrod, who became a mighty warrior on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.” (Genesis 10:8, 9)

There are quite a number of names mentioned in Genesis 10.

For the most part all they outline is the lineage of the various family trees. So it takes something to make a name for yourself in the list.

Nimrod establishes his reputation because his might and physical force. It’s one thing to have those features, it’s another thing to leave such a legacy that people refer to you as the standard whenever they talk about those features.

What characteristics would mark you out that would leave a mark for others to know about you?
