One of the things I have planned to do this year is to make the most of meals.
Thank God I had the opportunity to put that in practice yesterday. Leaving Derby last year wasn’t heart-wrenching, but there were some relationships that we developed there that would now have a longer distance to navigate.
We had the delightful company of a family that we got on with really well. They spent some time with us and so obviously they had a meal. The father figure in the house is someone I admire a great deal. He’s one of those thinkers that are not resting on their considerable laurels. There are always goals to achieve and steps to take to reach those.
It was really good getting to spend some quality time with him. What I appreciated especially as he sat and enjoyed the good food on offer, was just how much they appreciated the time with us. This is a really engaging and intelligent family and they certainly know how to be hospitable themselves. the desire is to develop these relationships and the meals will help with that.
Please pray that other meals will follow in which relationships can be developed and positive outcomes emerge. Thanks.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
