It’s around this time of year that people come out with their reviews of the last twelve months.
I intend to spend most of today doing exactly that from the comfort of my own home. This is something I don’t take for granted. A roof over my head, warm surroundings in cold outdoor weather is a blessing indeed.
What I recognise about reviewing the year, is that it’s also a very good time to revise. By revise, thankfully, I don’t mean cramming a load of information for an exam that will subsequently be of no value to you whatsoever. I mean in the light of the information received in life make the necessary adjustments. Almost as if from just an authorised version, your life reflects a revised standard version.
This is very healthy because as we practice we discover areas that could do with more practice. Applying the changes to deliver the better practice brings about something better all round in life.
It’s a great time to do that in the light of the year that’s taken place. I have no doubt God has spoken over the year and graciously pointed out His work in our lives and the way we should walk in obedience to Him. It is good to give thanks for His communications with us and then see how we follow His will. What changes we will make in the light of what He said is going to be of great interest.
I trust and pray not just for the massive new year resolutions. I trust and pray for the new day’s challenges and successes. I trust and pray you will review God’s blessings and revise your life to be further in line with His will and way for you.
As I pray that for you, I truly need your prayers now more than ever before on the same matter.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom

Wow! “Review and revise” is a great definition of “repent.”
Never looked at it that way, sir. Thanks for the insight.
