Fruitfulness

There’s a point to planting the seed deep in the ground. There is an expected outcome in ensuring it’s in the right place in the right environment with the right support. There is a purpose.

There is a reason for animals existing where and how they do. There is a reason for the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea. With that being the case, it can be no surprise that likewise there is a reason for humanity roaming the earth. Some may put it down to pursuing happiness. That is falling well short of what life is about. Happiness is a by-product of discovering one of the key purposes of being human.

As we have the image of God planted in us and activated fully by the Holy Spirit by faith in the Son, we are no able to connect with what God already desired for us.

Be fruitful.

God instructed that for man in the beginning. Jesus instructed that for His followers before He departed for crucifixion. Apostles expected that to be a result of connecting with God. That is that we produce the qualities of God for others to see. His character is on display and that produce makes the world a healthier and more just society. It makes where you work and live at least aware of the presence of something that is of the light and of the truth and of purity and joy.

When He made man He expected to see his reflection in character. In His Son He sees that reflection and by His spirit He is now able to see that reflection in those who follow the Son. That enables people to produce that character around others.

It is being fruitful on the personal and corporate level.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
