Acts Actually: 1 – Kingdom First, Kingdom Last

After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3)

When Jesus burst onto the scene, His message was about the Kingdom of God.

Throughout His time serving on earth, His message revolved around the Kingdom of God. Whether in proclamation or in parable, this theme saturated all Jesus said and did.

It is no surprise, then, that in the days after His amazing resurrection, Jesus invested His time with His awe struck disciples on the matter of the Kingdom of His Father. It was His first, His last, His everything.

The challenge today is to consider how the Kingdom of God influences His followers. Does it saturate what we say and do? Could we demonstrate it? Can we talk about it?

As the Holy Spirit inspires us to live the life pleasing to God, let those lives express the righteousness, peace and joy that are the essence of this marvellous Kingdom of God.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
