Kingdom Mind

It’s a different mind-set.

It is not about positive thinking or a glib over optimistic view on the world and people.

It is connecting with a thought that maybe the way things are does not have to be perpetuated. Maybe there is a way things can be that our hearts long for. Like every time you get tired you know what it is to be fresh and invigorated. When you come across those who are blind, you know what it is to see. When you see someone unfairly treated you know what it should be to experience justice.

That is to say there is enough evidence in experience to suggest not only should things be different, things can be different.

What being Kingdom minded is about is seeing how the Prince of Peace showed the example of the rule of God on the earth that makes things different. Where there were sick people, He brought about healing. Where there was unjust rule from a religious rule more concerned with keeping up appearances than relieving the burdens of people, He showed good news for the poor. That wasn’t all.

The time of Jesus on earth opens up a way to be that allows the rule of the Father on earth as God had always planned it. That affects all of life. Family relationships have to be based on being Kingdom minded. Attitudes to work and the sort of approach to careers and vocation is shaped by what the Kingdom looks like on earth as it is in heaven.

That affects everything and such is the magnitude and brilliance of this Kingdom that it is best to embrace it and not get overwhelmed by it. Gradually as it becomes a part of your thinking it also affects you’re behaviour, and as that happens and relationships are influenced others get in on it.

That’s not just an exciting thing – it is the most stimulating and worthwhile mind-set to adopt.

For His Name’s Sake
