Things happen in life that can knock us.
Some of those things that can happen can knock us down for a while. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that, we’re all susceptible and vulnerable if we acknowledge that.
In my brief span of life on this earthI have encountered discouragement. On more than a handful of occasions. It’s been great knocking about with people who have likewise been discouraged and have found ways to overcome it. Here’s some things I’ve witnessed and observed from others. In no particularly order.
1. Consider greater truths
2. Spend time with good friends
3. Pray
4. Deconstruct the discouragement and see it as powerless to discourage unless we give it the power to do so
5. Remind yourself of the goal that you’re aiming to achieve
6. Conduct a strenuous physical work out and for each part of it, see it as overcoming the discouragement
7. Find something to laugh about and put things in their proper perspective
8. Remind yourself that discouragement stops progress and you prefer progressing
9. Make a list of blessings large and small. After listing 25, consider how that which discourages is nothing in comparison
10. Smile – there are brighter days ahead.
