Euphoric.
It’s quite the expression to feel euphoric. It’s not one that I experience on a daily basis, but it is one I treasure when I come across it.
Lately I came across it whilst reading the end of Genesis 1. It was the accumulation of the days of creation and God’s admiring of His handiwork as step by step it reaches fulfilment. To see God look at the finished work and distinguish that feat more than any other with the terms ‘very good’ was cause for the sense of euphoria. There is something remarkably thrilling to see the Creator seeing the finished work – beholding it and expressing delight.
I appreciate this is the thing He also values in us. He takes in humanity when they live for His purposes and sees that as very good. Being made in His image, I can approach every day as a glorious opportunity to reflect creation purposes by doing everything with the mind to look back and saying ‘that’s good’ and on completion of a set task or responsibility I can say that it was ‘very good’ even as His Spirit enables me to do it.
As I put life in that perspective I can apply that to more of seeing God in scripture. Not just about seeing Him, but celebrating Him in His Word as that becomes alive to me by His Indwelling Spirit.
That makes it far more than textual comprehension, that makes it about whole life consumption, understanding and application as He reveals Himself through me.
That in its own way may increase those euphoric moments.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
