Solid September Signing: Making Glorious Things Together Church Style

It would be boring.

I don’t believe in being bored. I don’t believe in doing things that bore.

There’s room for routine and I appreciate having a pattern is very helpful. It’s just about seeing community as a lot more than gathering to go through the motions. It’s an opportunity to see God do amazing things among us as we gather. That can take place in a variety and diversity of ways. Each individual member of the Body of Christ can contribute something so revealing about the character of God in Christ that it will adjust our perspectives and hearts to be closer drawn to Him.

That kind of thinking and approach to gathering stimulates us to broaden our horizons when it comes to what we do when we gather. It doesn’t narrow godly encounters to specific architectural constructs. It doesn’t limit godly encounters to distinct times. It doesn’t restrict godly encounters to spiritual experts with titles. It doesn’t incapacitate godly encounters to being what they’ve always been.

Open to the leading of the Spirit becomes a truly humbling experience. Humbling and exciting. Seeing Him heal, deliver, build, discipline, reconcile, console, in-fill, convict and draw us together closer to each other and to Him in all of life – that’s glorious.

That’s what makes living together for Him all the more delightful.

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
C. L. J. Dryden
