It has always been bizarre to me how some can behave in foolish and sometimes dangerous ways and blame it on ‘being in the Spirit’.
It’s bizarre to me because one aspect of the Spirit fruit is self-control. That would suggest that dangerous, reckless, foolish and harmful behaviour could never be sourced in the Spirit that gives liberty as well as decency and order. It does not make sense to source such activity in the Spirit that hovered over in darkness and chaos and ushered in light and order.
In fact it turns from bizarre to disrespectful.
My heart’s desire is not to disrespect the same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead. My heart’s desire is to enjoy life in the Spirit on His terms and conditions and to see it as He sees it. My heart’s desire is not to wreck my life going by my selfish perceptions and following crazy ways of what people want to class as the Christian faith.
The promise is true that if I walk in the Spirit I won’t fulfil the lusts of the flesh. That is the way to be.
