That whole glass half full or glass half empty business. What was that all about?
The optimist and pessimist both miss the point. The point of the glass is to be full. We look for the full measure of a situation. Our desire in relationships is to get the full picture. Reaching a conclusion in cases of law is done in the hope of having a full case presented.
The saddest thing we can be is happy with the state of the glass, when there’s so much more juice to flow.
This is certainly not an endorsement of being covetous for goods, glory and gluttonous gain. Life shows time after time such desires are foolish and never result in fulfillment, let alone a life truly overflowing.
This is an assertion that the abundant life leads us to the One who lived life beyond the full and invites us to live there.
So whether your glass is half empty or half full, ask for a top up.
For His Name’s Sake
