It’s a great pity people don’t invest in relationships without looking for something in return.
Recently a friend and I were ‘encouraged’ to offer our manpower to a cause. (At this point feel free to laugh at the thought of me lending ‘manpower’ to anything other than opening a pack of Bakewell Tarts where I will happily be of assistance.) Thankfully my friend is a resourceful type, very practical and eminently blessed in the manpower department.
We spent the day together on one thing and another. It’s quite something to be able to do seemingly mundane tasks in good company. All of a sudden it’s not so mundane, the moments fly, the conversation is refreshing, the mistakes become comedy material and something about the time together makes it all worthwhile.
It highlights the truth in the matter, that relationships that seek to serve the other as they are joined together on the same course are of immense help in progressing within and without.
I am not going to be Mr Handyman any time soon, but I am enriched with the insight by the power of relationship.
For His Name’s Sake
