A Dryden Update: What Is Going On Now?

It’s complicated.

I love that phrase. An excellent cop out from explaining yourself. After all it could very well be complicated.

In terms of how things are going with the Dryden Family in many ways it’s not complicated. In some ways, however, it is.

We have moved.

Yes. Again.

I have been blogging since 2005, in that time the Dryden Family have moved home on a number of occasions. On those occasions I have faithfully reported how detestable I find the process of moving. It really is a traumatic process. So a good question to ask is “Why on earth do you do it, man?”

That’s a good question.

It gets better. Where have we moved to?

Stoke-on-Trent.

Yes. Again.

Why on God’s multi-faceted planet would we go to Stoke-on-Trent? What on earth would possess to commit such an act of incredulity?

It’s complicated. Kinda.

Here’s what I can tell you at this time and hopefully more will be revealed as time unfolds. It remains very important to me to be sensitive to what God wants us to do. Decisions are not taken lightly especially over an issue like this. It has been an agonising few months to reach this decision.

It is one we have reached together as a family. It is a new chapter in the Dryden story. It is not about coming back to Stoke-on-Trent. Coming back implies returning to something and carrying on with it. That is not the plan.  By the term ‘new chapter’ I mean elements of things that were not in the last time we were here. We are here as different people with different outlooks. It’s certainly not with a desire to run anything, but it is with the desire to serve God’s purposes here for this season.

It’s interesting times with the Dryden Family. We ask for your prayers as we live for His glory. Thanks.
