God In Creation: The God Who Orders

There is little to say positive about chaos.

The best thing about chaos is that it’s the perfect settings for God to establish order. People testify of lives messed up doing things their way and finding order in it all when they allowed the Lord of Shalom to apply His order in their situation.

This is not unusual when you consider the credentials of the careful way in which He made the heavens and earth. He did nothing without introducing light to the situation. He populates after He has distinguished and established the appropriate environment.

His ways are truly inspirational. They state categorically that there is order in His world. This sort of order celebrates diversity of function in the various settings, the Creator God certainly doesn’t stifle creativity. On the contrary He makes the context ideal for thriving, flourishing and being fruitful to the umpteenth degree.

This is often where our efforts sometimes fall short. Our idea of order can be so limited and repressive it strangled any hope of life in the setting. Our ideas become formats which can be forever embedded in the life of the group. It sometimes takes a brave person to address the matter head on and introduce a more godly alternative.

God’s excellence and wisdom in creation highlights how He can be trusted to bring life-giving, dynamic order from a dark and chaotic situation. The challenge is for us to apply that same submission to His will in our messy lives on both the individual and collective level.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
