God In Creation: The God Who Observes

When you want something desperately, you can sometimes miss a lot in the process of getting it.

That desperation and sense of urgent need can obscure other things worth noting.

In.the creation account given in Genesis, God is in no hurry. From time to time after speaking and creating He’ll take a look at what He’s done. I didn’t pay attention to it before, but of late I picked up on the bit where God looks at what He’s done.

That is to say He actively observes the process of creation. What a thought. He doesn’t just move on. He reflects, He reviews, He observes. Even though it’s not finished, the journey is still good.

What a loving, heavenly Father to take such an interest in observing and celebrating His creation. That doesn’t stop at Creation and it’s not hindered by sin.

He still observes His creation. He’s still waiting to celebrate when He observes them doing well even as He affirmed His Son.

Some find the omnipresence of God intrusive and unnerving. It’s actually a delight to know He who looks out for us created us and knows us better than we know ourselves. His presence in observing is not to condemn, it’s to reconcile us back to the image from the beginning where when He made us we made that which was good – very good.

He sees and knows and still calls us to relate to Him as that loving, heavenly Father. What a God we serve and take delight in.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
