It is not uncommon to start something and not end it.
It is a thing to applaud when someone completes something they started. Usually the reason why they complete a task is because the outcome is worth the effort.
The challenge of faith in Jesus Christ is to hold Him as the prize worth focussing on. It’s a challenge because there are sufficient distractions to make it appear that Jesus is not worth the fuss.
He Himself highlighted how the cares of this life and the pursuit of wealth can easily choke any hope we have of being fruitful. Those two pressures in particular can get our eyes off the prize.
This is why it’s worth being reminded of why He is a prize worth pursuing. He is life in its fullness. He is not just the source and sustainer, He is the essence and richness. He is the meaning.
It’s a pain to be dragged from other things we might have held as worthy, riches and worries.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
