Say What You See: Delightful Meals

Jesus loved food.

I am so glad that a lot of what Jesus did involved food and drink. It’s so basic to our existence it is the ideal avenue through which relationships can be built.

It’s a brilliant point of service to share meals with those who hunger. It’s a great expression of fellowship as we gather to share the eating experience.

It’s a superb place to bless and be blessed as you offer what you have whilst delighting in what has been given. It’s a sweet place for the empty to be filled. It’s an excellent occasion for the lonely to truly feel cherished.

It’s no surprise that Jesus inaugurated the greatest communal expression of unity and being partakers through a meal. It’s no shock that the narrative of the Bride’s relationship with her Husband culminating in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. (I am confident that won’t involve a thimble of wine and the world’s smallest wafer.)

It’s exciting to see, then, people using meals as a time to share with those who don’t have to eat. It’s exciting to see, then, believers interacting with non-believers effectively over barbecues. It’s exciting to see, then, children of God displaying Kingdom living through the power of the meal.

It’s exciting to see, then, people tasting and seeing the goodness of God as they taste and see our love for them in the meal.

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
