Being raised in a denomination heavily influenced how I saw church.
It came as a huge shock to the system to discover that some of those views of church, were wrong. At best they were misguided, at worst they were dangerously arrogant, divisive and sectarian.
Getting a peek at the effects of some of those views on relationships with believers from different denominations challenged me to change.
What has not changed, however, is the view that there is one true church of God. As long as there’s something genuine, authentic and glorious, there are bound to be imitations. There are bound to be pretty compelling copies and frauds.
Not being suckered into the fake and embracing the truth is developing a greater knowledge and understanding of what Jesus is returning for when He comes for His bride. Focus on these truths and the Spirit will lead you to that one true church, however she expresses herself.

Amen Christopher! I was raised in the Catholic church, and they think they are the one true church. It took quite a lot of Bible reading and soul searching to be deprogrammed of that school of thought. This is a great post!! Thanks.
Dear Kate, thanks so much for your encouraging words. Deprogramming is a good way to explain what needs to take place for quite a few of us.
