Presence Power

I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ – Matthew 25:36

Of late I’ve been challenged about the power of the indwelling Spirit of God. God’s presence in and through us makes a huge difference in the lives of those around us.

The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead is capable of the miraculous today. Sometimes we can excuse ourselves from this. It will not go away. The presence of power can hold the key to transformation.

Yet as Jesus outlines what that day will be like, the criteria of the righteous is intriguing. Note how all the things Jesus talks about are regular things. Things that need his commendation.

It is not just the miracles, it is the power of presence. Those in prison just needing presence. The sick needing presence. These are priorities that shape all of life.

For His Kingdom – we are to be ready to warm hearts to just be present.
