Always Critical

He forgave and He was criticised. He healed and He was criticised. The blind received sight and He was criticised. The lame would walk and He was criticised. He fed thousands without apparent provisions and He was criticised.

He spoke amazing words of peace and hope and He was criticised. He deftly avoided traps set for Him and He was criticised. He explained His mission to rescue the sick and He was criticised. He foretold His own suffering and death (as well as resurrection) and He was criticised.

His followers defied orders to keep silent about Him and they were criticised. His followers broke cultural and social boundaries and they were criticised. His followers sought to create communities of truth and love and they were criticised. His followers demonstrated His Kingdom of righteousness and joy against all odds and they were criticised.

So what do you expect when you choose to follow Him too? If you’re not being criticised and rather enjoy no opposition to your attempt to be pleasing, then perhaps it’s worth considering who you are following.

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
