He writes the words, she does the music.
She came up with the idea, they worked on the script, brought him in as the director and once we got our two main.characters, the piece just came together beautifully.
I saw him plan it out, then they took their time doing the construction. One geezer spent time on the interior design. A group of lasses made sure the layout of the furniture was just right. In time they put together something simply amazing inside and out.
Whether it was the ark, the tabernacle, the nation building, the temple construction, the mission work of Jesus’ apostles or the development of the early church, at its heart was a collaborative approach. Skilled people, gifted by God and attuned to His plan, work together and the glory of God is celebrated and others are witness to His wonders through His people.
The beauty of being part of the family of God, is collaborating with others to show the world God’s coming kingdom. Showing it through loving deeds, generous giving of time, resources and energy and sacrificial thanks-living in interdependence to show justice and peace to the world.
It’s as much about making cakes as it is about making songs. It’s more about building relationships than building monuments to architectural genius. It’s about designing programmes that enable growth and the realisation of each other’s call, as well as designing rooms and other spaces.
It’s about realising that collaborating brings better expressions of Christ’s life on earth, than either leaving it to a guy at the front, or criticising from the sidelines. There are brothers and sisters known and to be known waiting for us to collaborate with them on the exciting work ahead.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
