The Flying Elastic Band

elastic bandOne elastic band was gazing admiring other elastic bands he saw whizzing around. They’d be flying from one end to another and in their flying they looked to be having the time of their lives. So happy soaring in the wind.

He wished he could fly like that.

One day he felt himself being stretched backwards. This didn’t make sense to him. He thought it made sense to go forward to fly. Why was he being so stretched?

When he reached what felt like breaking point and he was about to give up, he felt a huge release. With that he was propelled through the air, just like all the other elastic bands. He soared with ease as though no effort on His part was needed. And even the slowing down and landing did not bother him. He had flown.

Now he knew that to fly, he would have to be willing to be stretched knowing he would have to reach the limit before experiencing the empowering, compelling and propelling release.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
