I love the variety of Christian music available. I love the fact that it caters to most tastes.
One minute I can be bouncing and jumping to a song (though not as much as my dear daughters).
The next minute I can sit and appreciate the musicality of the acapella refined styles of a song like this.
What’s good about this as well is that I’m not just sitting back and being impressed by the stylings and vocals, but the lyrics – the very words they sing go to the very core of my being. It’s not just a statement of the only person who thrills the soul – it’s a challenge to anything that would dare to compete with it for the primacy of our affections.
When we think about Jesus Christ, what and who else could give us such a thrill? What is anything else in comparison? To even begin to consider a rival is so pathetic. Sure there’s a real ‘thrill’ at the time, but seriously there is no competition when it comes to the thrill stakes. No competition at all. As we live the kind of lives that reflect, lets hope others will likewise be converted to the one who isn’t just here to give us a momentary thrill, but to capture and enrapture our hearts and emotions forever.
