Grateful For The Blessing Of Being A Child

It has been a really tiring but interesting past few days.

The highlight was yesterday attending the blessing of my niece. It was one of the rare occasions when my sister, brother and I were in the same place at the same time. I love my siblings heaps and heaps so the three of us together on such a joyous occasion was a delight.

I was so delighted to see my brother and his beautiful wife celebrating the life of their newborn baby. That baby girl is so beautiful and content it was a pleasure to witness her.

The whole day reminded me to appreciate children. Their new life is a reminder that we are all children. Children with the potential to grow to reflect the nature of our parents. Not mimic or imitate them, but reflect characteristics innately.

As a child of God I rejoice at the thought that our Father is delighted with everyone of His children. Delighted because in His Son there are now others being conformed into His image and beholding the love our Father has given to us.

Whatever achievement I make in life, it only reinforces my need to depend on the Father for everything. As I saw my niece and her loving parents, I celebrated blessing and knew in the same way she needed blessing from the heavenly Father, so did I.

So do I.

  1. I really enjoyed this post, Chris. Every good spiritual and moral thing about us we inherit from Papa. The love that is in us comes from him too. And just as children pick up habits (good and bad) from their parents and from their brothers and sisters, so we pick up habits from the Father and the Son. The difference is that we only pick up good habits because all we ever see in them is good.
