Inexpressible: More Than Words Can Say

The irony of this entry shouldn’t be lost on you.

Just to stress it. I love words. One of the main drivers behind blogging. I love the power it has to shape and influence thoughts, feelings and actions.

There are times however when words are so inadequate. The more time I spend realising God’s presence in His blessings, the more inexpressible my response. Here are some examples:

– Seeing my daughters support and encourage each other spontaneously and earnestly.

– Witnessing a learner who had previously claimed they has no skills or abilities, bloom into an active participant in the learning experience being an inspiration to others in the process.

– Reflecting on one of my best team experience working with Rob, SuperJen and Martin in Wigan. The camaraderie, the resilience and persistence under dreadful circumstances and especially the deep and enriching friendship with Rob that emerged from that.

– Recalling some profound and life-changing experiences at a friend’s home that we called The Hub. God chose to do business with us in such a refreshing, relaxed, honest and transparent environment. Again another meaningful friendship with Andy developed in those circumstances.

– Being inspired and edified reading and seeking to apply the brilliant blogs on the church and faith. It has been so beautiful and stimulating gaining such insights from folks like Alan (despite being a coffee-lover), Eric, King Arthur, Dan, Kathleen, Keith, CJ and more. Not yet big names, but they to me are huge influences on my love for Jesus, His Church and His Mission.

– Remembering brothers and sisters, believers and not-yet-believers who were so pivotal in saving my life and showing the love of Jesus through some gruelling episodes in my life. Whether it was depression, marriage problems, loss, trauma of moving or being rejected and betrayed – through it all God has shown His love through amazing people doing amazing, sacrificial, heart-breakingly simple, tender and deep things.

So many could be named – chiefly my beloved wife, parents and siblings. Then there’s such a huge cast from Ritson to Joyce to Howard to Chris B to Lorna and much more.

These words on this entry will never do justice to God’s greatness in my life. They are just some of the incidents and episodes that I consider and evoke responses are so inexpressible because they go far beyond what words can convey in gratitude to God for how He expresses Himself in these.

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
