Just Some Jesus Questions

If we’re not careful, the issues of life will successfully distract us from the real purpose to living.

I was mindful of that recently when I was talking with a friend about some church matters, especially on how we grow together in Christ.  In the light of that I had some questions to share with you.  Feel free to leave comments if you wish in answering them, I hope they are questions to at least stir you to good works.

1. Jesus spent time sharing the good news.  We as His disciples follow Him so doesn’t that mean we are meant to be sharing the good news?  If so, why don’t we?

2. Jesus spent time healing the sick. We as His disciples follow Him, so doesn’t that mean we are meant to be seeing people healed?  If so, why don’t we?

3. Jesus spent time living out Kingdom values.  We as His disciples … you know the rest, right?

4. Jesus spent time with those on the edges of society. We as His disciples … you fill in the gaps.

5. Jesus spent time making disciples.  We as His disciples … follow the flow.

6. Jesus spent time seeing what His Father did, sometimes on His own.  We as His disciples … answer this one too.

7. Jesus spent time showing an example of what it was to be the Son of  God and the Son of Man. We as His disciples  … yeah this one too.

I ask these questions and seek to answer them myself for the benefit of those I love, and in fact, because I know answering these questions focus me back on the person prominent in the question.

An element of the question assumes that this is not happening.  It might be the case that it is actually happening, which is worth celebrating and rejoicing about.  Even here though, there might be a reason why it’s happening and that is likewise worth exploring to help outhers who might not be experiencing these things.

I also ask these, because I have a slight concern that sometimes we can be wrapped up in our own personal development, that funnily enough we don’t see that this is fulfilled in the light of looking out for the needs of others.

Hope these questions provide a platform to explore answers for yourself.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
