He Lifted Me

A hymn I love is called He Lifted Me.

I love it, because it gets things right.  I hear some people talk about lifting up Jesus.  I always thought it a bit odd to lift up one who is already the Most High.

This song reminds me that it was actually Jesus doing the lifting.  Coming down, living among the likes of me and others who have never known what it is to aspire to a life far greater than the one we have. Dying and coming back from the dead to be with His Father, giving eternal life to those that believe.  Lifting us from the sinking sand of life without Him. Shifting us from the darkness of night to the brilliant life giving light.

It is good news for those who will embrace it.
