I had a fascinating weekend.
I spent it with people who have shown incredible kindness and friendship to our family since moving to Derby. I also saw some other people who have in the past shown a great deal of love and care andd to me and my family.
It reminded me of the power of loyalty. We were not always in the scene over the last few years, but that sense of sticking with us, through it all, is the mark of loyalty that is worthy of applause.
It has been my honour to witness people who have shown great loyalty over a number of years and through some tricky times. My wife for one is an amazingly loyal person, not just to me, but to stick by people who have really gone through some tough times, and where others have deserted the friendship. That says a lot to me about the character of her, and the character of those who take this friendship business seriously.
