I am a Dr. Who fan. I enjoy watching the programme and enjoy talking about it.
A significant part of the story is how the Doctor travels by his space/time machine called the TARDIS. It is supposed to blend in with its surroundings, but the Doctor’s one is stuck looking like a Police Box of the 1960’s.
The gimmick of it, though, is that while it looks like a box that can just about fit one person, inside is a vast space ship with many rooms and control areas. Indeed it could be considered that it is a world in itself.
I say that to say, sometimes life in Christ as far as church is concerned can appear somewhat limited. People’s perceptions can be limited with the externals – weekly meetings, building centred, routines that can get onto being ritualistic. Yet when we explore the life of Christ and the impact it has on our lives and the world around us, the capabilities and opportunities are vast and wide, and go way beyond the narrow definition that can often appear to be the reality.
It’s about time we looked into the life in Christ a bit deeper than its apparent external trappings.
For His Name’s Sake
