What I love about the song is the reminder of being made clean. Of course if you’ve never felt dirty before, if you’ve never felt stained, tattered and marred inside by your thoughts, your desires, your actions, your motives and your impulses, then this is not an issue to you. If you’ve been clean all your life, then that’s fantastic.
My story is one where I’m not only reminded of the cleansing when it’s baptism time, I am reminded whenever I consider that verse behold the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world. I am reminded when I have a shower and the dirt of the day is washed off on the outside, and in prayerful contemplation I remember how the Holy Spirit cleans my thoughts and purifies my heart.
Thank God that He is still in the cleaning business. Let us look forward to God cleaning us and those we long to see purified today.
