Bletchley Lessons: Leave Well

It has not always been easy to leave well.

There have been some partings of the way that have been messy and acrimonious.  There have been burnt bridges and soured relations which has lead to the end of some affairs.

Of late, however, I’ve been delighted with the impression my wife and daughters have made on their circles of influence.  There was genuine sadness among my wife’s colleagues when they heard she was leaving and over her last two days they extended a great deal of kindness to her reaffirming the positive impact she has left there.

Meanwhile tears were flowing at the school where the daughters attend.  Children and adults sobbed away and asked the girls not to go, but in accepting it decked them with gifts that will last in the memory.

There was also kind sentiments from those at the Baptist church we frequented, when they heard we were leaving.  That is all down to  being loving, positive, bright and polite people who leave an indelible mark on the lives they touch.  Thus even in physical relocation, there remains a link.

It’s beneficial to start good – even better to finish well.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
