Creating the Culture for Cross Carriers

There was four of us seated round the table laughing about things like how you were considered a young man in the church until you reached 70 by which time you were sent to a home.

Laughing stopped when we agaon considered the words of Jesus regarding aspects of the cost of discipleship. Anyone coming after Christ must deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow Him.

Heavy words then, heavy words now. As we sat at the table we wondered whether the church culture had this embedded at its heart. Or were other matters a priority like simply getting people over the line to ‘be saved’ or being a good person morally was more important.

What would church culture look like which Jesus’ challenge at its core? Would it look like yours? And what would look like to be the catalyst for change?
