A Love Medley with a Dryden Update

October is a significant month for the Dryden family.  It’s my brother’s birthday this week and the day after that a highly cherished and valued friend of the family (making them family) also celebrates a birthday.  So that’s significant in itself.

Also October kicks off the final quarter of the year.  Nights draw in, temperatures drop and thoughts begin to head towards that festive period that usually marks the end of the calendar year.

For me 2012 has been a tough year personally. Yet heading into the final quarter there remains a lot to be thankful for.  God’s faithfulness, provision, love and care is all the more noted in times of adversity, and were I to list the people who have been of help and how they’ve supported me in this time then it would call for a book, not a blog entry.  That all goes to show for me that when Jesus talks about love being something that is shown by His disciples then I am sure ’nuff a recipient of that love.

Lots of crucial decisions are to be made in this quarter regarding the next step for Christopher Dryden and the Dryden Family.  In all that, however, we look to be guided by God’s Spirit and that love that marks us out as being His children.

With that love in mind, I end this blog entry with a music track.  It would usually be in the DMCD Songs series, but it fits what I’m grateful for and what I hope to practice all the more in my engagement with brothers and sisters in Christ as a witness for others to see. Although I was brought up on a lot of Andrae Crouch when I was a boy, I certainly have no recollection of this medley.  Nevertheless here it is for your listening pleasure, not just for the lush strings, sweet vocal harmonies and funky music, but for the outstanding lyrical content that calls us as brothers and sisters to let love lead us to greater knowledge of Christ and compassion for each other.  Hope you enjoy it.

In the meantime, in your thoughts, prayers, contemplations and meditations remember Christopher Dryden, his wife, his three children and the community in which he lives both physically and via various communicative means.  Remember us and help us to be ever mindful of the Kingdom and God’s righteousness and the mission to which we’ve been called.

Thanks.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
