Talking Point: When Ignorance Was Bliss

What continues to dawn on me is that following Christ involves a series of realisations and revelations.

From time to time, if we’re following Christ diligently, we come across something that shifts our understanding about Him, His Word, our lives and everything around us rather fundamentally.

I urge you to read this blog entry from Eric Carpenter on Ignorance Was Bliss.

Eric is one of the best bloggers I know.  It is well worthwhile considering the journey with Christ that he is making and the consequences of some of the realisations and revelations he has come across.  It works as a startling insight into what happens when you can no longer live in ignorance.

You don’t have to reach the same conclusions as him, and you don’t have to agree with him.  The issue as with all good-natured relational engagement is to at least consider what he’s saying.

As you do so I challenge you to reflect on your own life journey and see when and where you have come across realisations and revelations that have seriously altered your life, and whether you were compelled because of its importance to share it with others.  It’s a talking point.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
