If you asked a Christian the top three most important things about being a Christian I would doubt many would highlight their responsibility to the creation in which God placed them. The issue of the environment, however, can bring about a fair amount of ignorance.
From that state we can succumb to certain extremes. There is the almost militant types who suggest that Mother Earth should wipe us out unless we start getting rid of ever piece of machinery and live back in fig-leaves. Then on the other side there are those who see the earth as a rotting rock and so it doesn’t matter what we do as it’s all going up in smoke and we should just wait it out until we get the new heaven and new earth.
(By the way, it’s the first time I’ve heard of ‘environmental racism’ when I watched this video and … well … errr … it’s a good time to state that not every video I post here completely reflects my views on matters. My view will emerge before the end of the week, though, so stick around.)
Surely God would want us to have a view on it, after all this is our home for the time being, and He did create it. It’s a talking point.
For His Name’s Sake
