I get down sometimes.

Part of the reason for quoting scriptures like the joy of the Lord is my strength and rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice, is because sometimes I don’t feel like rejoicing and sometimes I don’t experience joy.

Listening to songs like this as well remind me of the cure for the blues.  For those who suffer from depression i know that it’s not as glib and as simple as putting on pretty music and quoting scriptures.  Yet focussing on God and remembering His character and His acts puts everything into perspective and allows me to at least once more acknowledge His unfailing mercies and His love for me.
