DMCD Songs: Place of Worship – Marvin Sapp

Ah ha.  Now I like this song for a number of reasons, but here’s one of them.  What does he mean?  Is he talking about a physical location, or is he referring to a place in your mind or your heart?  (Smart Alec: Can’t It Be Both?)

It’s a great little song to challenge you about where you worship when things are going horribly wrong.  Where do you find the ounce of strength to acknowledge God in your ‘low place’?  Is it in the toilet?  Is it in the bedroom?  Is it in the memory of a particular close time with God?  Is it in a scripture you often recite?  Is it in that phone call to your confidante?  Is it in the allotment?

Wherever it is – treasure and value it (although obviously don’t let it be a crutch preventing you from the goal itself).  I know only too well from painful experience the benefit of having such a place of worship.  I thank God for the people He put in my life at strategic stages to indicate where those places are and where they can be.  I’m just grateful to God that now wherever I am I can be in a place of worship that does give proper perspective to life whether in its highs or lows.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
