With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. (Proverbs 7:21)
In the age reason it is even more important to be aware of the seductive power of words. The scenario the wise one paints is easy to relate to sexual affairs, but the power of wisdom here is to enable people to avoid the things that lead to death. At the outset it can appear so innocent and reasonable, beguiling by its simplicity and offer of gratification. Wisdom can pierce through the lies and establish the harsh realities of the consequences of the easy way out, which is usually the prelude for the easy way out of life.
