There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Proverbs 6:16-19)
The love of God is amazing. I am grateful for His mercy to me. Yet sometimes getting wrapped up in His love some night think God doesn’t hate. That ain’t right. The wise one gives his heir counsel when it comes to things God hates.
I remember reciting these from memory with a friend of mine and challenging each other if we held the same hatred for these things and being convicted of how they often could be found in our own conduct. The challenge remains to check our hearts to see if we hate the things God hates.
