I love God for putting in my life beautiful people who helped me to deal with real issues from the perspective of being nothing but real. Real with God, real with the close loved ones and real with myself. When I had marital issues, these people didn’t fudge around the issue and talk in buzzwords and catchphrases. These people heard me rant, rave, blubber, bawl, grimace, groan and eventually recognise the responsibility I have to be obedient and from a heart in love with God do what He calls me to do.
I love God for that. (High Five, God!)
It’s interesting how the experience of some in church is that in as much as we do ritual and formality very well and the structure and order of proceedings is maintained fairly well, there’s little room to burst through with some truth and reality that would upset that tightly made pattern and order that has been set for generations (although not as long as certain folk would have you believe).
So I found it refreshing to come across this video and commend it to you not just in the sense of getting Fred’s new release, but as another reminder that the love God has for you enables you to deal with real issues. Not through a facade of formulas and rituals that at best offer a short-term buzz, but through the process of sanctification that starts and ends in the character of His Son, who lived among us and dealt with real issues.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
