I like watching movies. I like the issues they raise and the application to every day life.
My beloved wife and I managed to grab some opportune moments to watch The Count of Monte Cristo. Based on a novel surrounding a man who was bitterly betrayed and escaped to wreak revenge on those who caused him such agony.
It is remarkable seeing the extents people will go whether it is to gain fame, fortune, power. It is also a reminder of how easy it is for us to be motivated by emotions and how strong those emotions can be. Sometimes the rage of anger, or the overwhelming lust can be so intoxicating that all reason is left out and the only thing is that which the emotion hungers, that which will satiate the power of the emotion. In all of that I end up losing everything.
Far better to be guided by God in the ways of righteousness so that these emotions can be channeled into that which is pleasing to Him than to let them loose and end up …
