This won’t be long and will be the first of a two part series.
I need to confess that I have far too often been critical. Things are not the way they should be, in the imperfections there’s a sense that things could be so much better. Rather than acting in hope of seeing and being better, I have the tendency to criticise. It’s wrong. This is how wrong it is. This why it is so wrong, and more importantly this is whose fault it is.
The problem of course is stopping there. As though that is the end of the responsibility. Whereas Jesus didn’t have a problem with critical analysis, He invested His entire life into being the answer. His life was an example to others and in so doing He empowered others to go beyond seeing and being the problem, to embracing and enjoying the Solution.
Now all these years later a brilliant part of the eternal narrative is that the same God who in the beginning created man in His image and related with him, has in Jesus Christ opened a way to be that again – beings relating regularly with the Creator and living in harmony with His intentions for us.
The amazing message throughout Scripture and especially seen in the early church is that everyone regardless of age, gender, cultural, racial, educational, social or economic background plays a part in God’s scheme of things. Everyone becomes pivotal in the plan – everyone contributes.
For the time being what that means is that there is no room to just talk about problems. Now we are called to be the solution we want to see. The only way that happens is if we focus on the Solution. That is everyone.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
