There was a teaching I came across that suggested that the evening and morning element in the Genesis creation account was reflecting the character of the Creator.
The explanation states that in the evening when its dark is the time that things are done in secret and when morning comes what is done in secret comes to light. It is revealed as it were. I don’t necessarily buy it as the definitive explanation, but it is a great thought about how God operates often in the small, secret and hidden things and it eventually comes to light. The comparison was well stated with how we prefer to make a fanfare of things out in the open and things tend to deteriorate from there to something small, dark and preferably kept in secret.
