HT: The Meta Picture
Here’s something that’s always struck me as a bit bizarre. Why is death such a taboo subject? don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we glamorise it and turn it into a celebrity issue. (Though we’ve probably done that already when you consider the deaths of celebrities.) I am saying that for something that is the only guaranteed thing in the world whatever country, whatever age, whatever economic status, it should get a bit more thought. A bit productive thought.
Death is an opportunity to talk about what matters if everything will end when we die. If this is all there is and it’s over when you di, why make such a big deal of death? In fact the value of life is considerably cheaper after all it’s a bit flimsy isn’t it. We put so much into what is essentially just a bunch of animated ash about to return to its original status.
But what if there was more to it than that?
Just saying that death need not be the morbid experience that keeps people scared or keeping it as a taboo. The way we revere it and its impact on us is an opportunity to talk about and demonstrate in loving deeds the things that matter.
For His Name’s Sake
